Paris
Paris is not only about art, fashion, and elegance; it is also about hardship, exhaustion, and haste.
It seems easy to run out of words when trying to describe Paris. There has been so much written about Paris before that it would be pointless to repeat anything you want to say.
My accommodation in Paris was the worst I'd ever stayed in all of Europe, but my roommates were the friendliest. This seems to be a microcosm of the city: despite hearing about its absurd and terrible aspects in various media, Paris's humanistic spirit is irreplaceable. If Amsterdam represents openness, Paris represents inclusiveness. If there's any subtle difference, the former embraces both good and bad through its unreserved acceptance, while the latter heals rifts through humanistic care. Metropolises always have a hard side, but Paris also possesses a precious warmth.
