Perhaps most travelers hope to document more scenery, landmarks, museums, and art galleries. But when I arrive in a place, I prefer to walk through the most ordinary residential areas, experiencing the lives of the locals and the wealth gap that is often obscured by the media. I think this is the meaning of visiting a place in person: you can see the real side that you can't see online. (2024)
