Xiamen-Gulangyu Island
Because it was a business trip on the way, there was only about three or four hours of sightseeing. Most of the time in Gulangyu is spent lying on the reefs along the beach, watching the sunset while blowing the sea breeze. It's probably a puzzling thing to come all the way over here just to lie on the beach, but bring in images of Cantonese kids rolling around in the snow and you'll probably understand how I feel.
November, 2020
I was on a cruise ship to Gulangyu Island.
The residential areas of Gulangyu Island are narrow and clean. This street lamp on the wall is kind of a microcosm of the whole island - the shell on the outside looks a bit antiquated, but what's inside is very modern. Like all domestic tourist destinations, it's commercialized and homogenized, but Gulangyu still leaves a good impression because of a very comforting cleanliness.
Cafes, planted facades and bowler hats are everywhere on Gulangyu Island. Seeing too many of them then you get tired.
There are a lot of couples taking wedding photos on the island.
"Marriage is a sweet cage."
Back-to-back
If you hide behind the reef, you won't be afraid of being hit by the waves.
This is the first time I have seen a beach shining like gold at sunset.
